Minimum Wage Changes, Effective July 1

Have you heard of these state and city minimum wage changes going into effect July 1, 2021?  Here we go!

  • California

    - Berkeley - $16.32 + Consumer Price Index (CPI)

    - Emeryville - $17.13

    - Fremont - $15.25 (26+ employees), $15 (1-25 employees)

    - Los Angeles (City of) - $15.00 (Note: As of July 1, 2021 different size employers in Los Angeles are subject to the same rate.)

    - Malibu - $15.00 (all employers)

    - Milpitas - $15.65

    - Pasadena - $15.00 (all employers)

    - San Francisco - $16.32

    - Santa Monica - $15.00 (all employers)

  • Chicago, Illinois

    - Employers with 21+ employees: $15.00 standard, $9.00 minimum cash wage for tipped employees

    - Employers with 4–20 employees: $14.00 standard, $8.40 minimum cash wage for tipped employees

  • Minnesota

    - Minneapolis - $14.25 (101+ employees), $12.50 (1-100 employees)

    - St. Paul - $12.50 (101-10k employees), $11.00 (6-100 employees), $10.00 (1-5 employees)

  • Nevada

    - $8.75 (for employees offered health benefits)

    - $9.75 (for employees not offered health benefits)

  • Oregon

    - Non-Urban Counties – $12.99

    - Standard Counties – $12.75

    - Portland Metro Area – $14.00

  • Washington, DC

    - $15.20

    - $5.05 (for tipped employees)
